Our Mission.
Adoption is not easy, and certain adoptions aren’t cheap. Our mission is to assist families with some of the financial hardship adoption often brings. Adoption is not right for every family, but the cost should not be a consideration when deciding if it fits yours.
Preadoption Grant Program
Private adoptions can be costly. Our preadoption grants will lessen the burden placed on these adoptive parents. Sadly, our grants cannot cover the total cost, but we know from experience that every little bit helps.
Eligibility & Terms:
Must have a completed, approved & current home study from a licensed agency
Must not be pregnant, trying to conceive, or pursuing fertility treatments
Must demonstrate financial obstacles to adoption
Must apply before adoption is finalized or paid in full
Must exhibit a commitment to adoption regardless of receiving the grant
Must be associated with a licensed agency or attorney
Adoption grants are awarded regardless of religion, race, age, marital status, or sexual orientation
All funds will be disbursed directly to the agency or attorney stated on your application
Postadoption Grant Program
The postadoption grant is meant for situations that arise once adoptions are finalized, such as counseling, summer camps for adoptees, or courses meant to educate adoptive parents.
Eligibility & Terms:
Must have a finalized adoption
Must demonstrate financial obstacles for requested programs/assistance
Must be associated with a licensed therapist/counselor (if requesting financial assistance for those services)
Postadoption grants are awarded regardless of religion, race, age, marital status, or sexual orientation
All funds will be disbursed directly to the licensed therapist/counselor or group stated on your application
Deadlines & Guidelines:
We award grants four times per year: January (deadline November 30th), April (deadline February 28th), July (deadline May 31st), and October (deadline August 31st).
Once a decision is made, applicants will receive notification by mail or email.
We reserve the right to refuse any application for any reason.
Funding decisions are at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Not all requests will be fulfilled due to limitation of funds.
